Khadas Blog | Changing VNC Server Password
Updated: Mar 9, 2020
To use in a hostile network environment, you may want to change the VNC server’s default password.
Login Via SSH or VNC
Login via SSH or by VNC, and open a MATE Terminal, via “Applications/System Tools/Mate Terminal”, upper-left-hand-corner menu!
In the Terminal window, type vncpasswd.
$ vncpasswd
$ Password: <input new password>
$ Verify: <repeat new password>
That’s it! The next time you login via Remmina or RealVNC, remember to change your VNC password, or else it will fail to authenticate!
