Whether you’re building an AI robot, designing a smart surveillance system, or creating a high-definition imaging rig, one thing matters most: a reliable, high-quality image feed. It’s often the difference between a project that works and one that doesn’t.

Khadas now introduces two advanced camera modules — IMX585 and IMX678 — built to elevate your SBC projects. With them, your devices gain sharper vision, wider perspectives, and cleaner detail across a wide range of scenarios.

IMX585 — Extreme Detail, Clearer Night Shots

A Flagship Sensor That Stands Out

Equipped with Sony’s 1/1.2’’ IMX585 flagship sensor, pixel light intake is boosted by ~130%. Night scenes become 1.5× cleaner, with subjects standing out naturally against softly blurred backgrounds [1].

Astonishing Clarity

Capture 8.29‑megapixel images and record 4K at 60fps [2]. Motion sharpness improves by ~40%, motion blur is cut nearly in half, and 2× slow‑motion footage is delivered losslessly. Combined with electronic stabilization and AI recognition, the results are nothing short of impressive [1].

Large Aperture, High Dynamic Range

With an F1.0 aperture and HDR tuning, light intake increases 5.8×, noise is reduced by half, and depth of field becomes smoother. Shutter speed is significantly faster, reducing shake‑induced blur to just one‑third [1]. Backlit subjects remain visible, highlights avoid overexposure, and both SNR and dynamic range are dramatically enhanced.

Summary

With its ability to capture exceptional detail and produce clean low-light images, IMX585 is well-suited for smart security, AI object recognition, intelligent monitoring, high-speed photography, and precision scanning.

IMX678 — Richer Frames, Wider Perspective

Ultra‑Wide Coverage

With a 178.6° ultra‑wide angle, both frame width and height expand by ~1.4×, effectively doubling the capture area. This wider field of view allows electronic stabilization to crop an extra 10% of the frame, greatly improving shake compensation [1].

Bigger Sensor, Cleaner Shots

The 1/1.8’’ Sony IMX678 sensor, paired with an F1.6 aperture, increases total light intake by over 200%. Under the same lighting, ISO can be lowered by 1.7 stops, producing cleaner images, faster shutter speeds, and blur‑free handheld shooting [1].

Low Distortion, True‑to‑Life Rendering

With distortion under ‑15.9%, straight lines stay straight and edge stretching is reduced by half. Architecture looks authentic, portraits remain natural, and post‑processing correction is unnecessary. Pixels are preserved at 100%, wide‑angle shots retain full detail, geometric errors are cut by more than half, and image stitching is minimized — enabling faster, more accurate algorithm alignment [3].

Summary

IMX678’s ultra‑wide perspective and distortion control make it perfect for panoramic capture, action cameras, object recognition, street mapping, robotic vision, and high‑definition photography.
